ZOUTMAN nominated for the Baanbrekers Award 2025
Good news for our sustainable logistics team: Multimodaal.Vlaanderen has nominated ZOUTMAN for the annual Baanbrekers Award. A wonderful recognition for companies truly committed to more sustainable transport.

This nomination is no coincidence. It fits seamlessly into our sustainability journey: a strategic choice to reduce our impact and anchor sustainability in everything we do.
In 2024, we set up a dedicated sustainable logistics team with a clear mission: to reduce CO₂ emissions from our transport and achieve net zero by 2047. Our team is actively exploring solutions such as rail transport, inland shipping, alternative fuels and electric trucks.
Why was ZOUTMAN nominated?
We made a smart intermodal shift to rail and inland waterways. The results:
- 56,300 fewer road kilometres towards Poland
- 66,000 kilometres saved towards the port
- 143 tonnes of CO₂eq avoided per year
A logistical and ecological win-win.
What is the Baanbrekers Award?
Every year, Multimodaal.Vlaanderen rewards companies and ambassadors who accelerate the transition to smart, green transport through concrete projects.
Requirements? Each project must contribute to more efficient and climate-friendly mobility.
