How much salt is used in a water softener?
Determining the quantity of salt for your water softener is not difficult. You pour the bag of salt for water softening into the salt container in your water softener until it is full. The maximum level of the salt is usually indicated in your water softener.
You can't really go wrong. Salt stops dissolving once the water is completely saturated (around 27% concentration of salt in water).
This means that the salt remains intact until the water's salt level reduces. The salt then dissolves as and when it is required in the water. This process continues until all the salt has completely dissolved. Then, you must add new salt.
